Grilled Sweet Onions

Maybe you think this is crazy, but try it. Use sweet yellow onions, or if you like some heat try white onions. This is an amazing garnish for grill chicken, steaks, pork and for burgers. The onions get sweeter as they cook.

Grilled Sweet Onions
About 2 servings

1 medium sweet yellow onion
Pinch each salt and pepper
Vegetable oil or melted butter to coat the onion slices

Grilled Onions and Zucchini

Peel the onion, cut off the ends and slice ¼ inch thick. Brush oil on both sides and season with salt and pepper. The onions don’t need much seasoning. Grill until lightly marked on each side and slightly tender. Remove from heat and cover to allow them to steam. Break up the slices into rings to serve as a garnish or place a whole slice on a burger.
